2009 BULL DATA

We feel that our breeding program has made great strides over the last few years and has come together really well. The selection in our bull pen is designed to meet the many changing demands of the current beef industry. The bulls are bred to express many convienience traits such as ease of calving, extreme fleshing ability, and low mateinence energy requirement. These are the traits that attracted us to this great breed over twenty years ago. During the recent growth and increased popularity of our breed we haven't lost sight of these economically relevent traits within our breeding program.

This years crop of herdsire prospects is looking great. They were weaned during the month of October and were introduced to long stem hay at this time to ensure proper development of their digestive system. We are also feeding a balanced screening pellet ration to ensure proper bone development, muscle growth and body condition. Our on farm performance evaluation will commence at the beginning of January. The bulls will be fed to express their genetic potential without impacting longevity.

We believe the long stem hay based ration that we feed allows for proper development of the ruminant digestive system and doesn't impact structural integrity. This is a more natural diet for bulls to develop on than silage based total mixed rations (TMR) that the industry has adopted as common practice.

Sires represented in this year's bull pen include breed leaders such as: Red JCC Equity 5S, Red Get-A-Long Rare 523, Red Geis Knight Hawk 14'02, Red Kenray Times Square 111T, Red Kenray Time Travel 75T, Red Lazy MC Smash 41N, Red Brylor RSTD High Capacity and S A V Net Worth 4200.
